There are twenty communities of Dominican friars in Ireland at present with a strong concentration in the Eastern portion of Ireland:
Athy, Kilkenny, Newbridge (Co Kildare), Waterford (two communities), Cork (two communities), Tralee, Limerick, Galway, Sligo, Newry, Dundalk, Drogheda, Dublin city (three communities), Tallaght (three communities). The Irish Dominicans have a “vicariate” in Trinidad and Tobago, several brothers in south America, in the USA, in London, Oslo, Fribourg (Switzerland), Rome, Jerusalem and Teheran as well as in India, Australia and South America. The brothers live in these places for both work and study.
